Gildar Gallery is pleased to participate in Untitled Miami 2017 with a booth featuring the works of five artists whose works contain an emergent color range historically viewed in extremes.

Called “ambivalent girliness” by New York Magazine’s The Cut and “the color palette of materialism” by Hyperallergic, Millennial Pink refers to a recent trend in art, design, advertising and even food production towards shades of dusty salmon, bold bubblegum, and Pantone Rose Quartz. This spectrum's pervasive march through culture addresses the disintegrating gender spectrum and has surprised forecasters as it outlives the popular lifespan of other hues. As Millennial Pink continues to soldier on into ever farther reaches of cultural life, it Illuminates a relationship between commerce and identity affixed to a color Artsy recently called a "spectacular contradiction."

As it goes with trends, they often remain hidden in plain site. Noticing  this color range was present in the works of a number of artists within the gallery's roster, we invited them to contribute objects that when brought together, bring to the surface this palette linked to cultural dynamics in flux.
